John's "Perfect Horse" set of 9 books are really undiscovered gold, as far as I'm concerned. The complete set is here: http://www.horsemanship101.com/Catalog/Perfect-Horse-Book-Set.html. The specific book he calls "Jody Wants to Know" has several chapters on stallions (and mares, body language, herd dynamics, etc.). The chapter called "Living with Stallions" has the following description: "Lots of info on behavior, training and keeping a stallion at home." There's also a chapter called "Proud Cut? Maybe Not," and "Cleaning the Sheath." Note that each chapter is only about 10 pages long, as there are other sections included as well, so it doesn't go into great depth. Other chapters include: "Don't ride that buck," "Riding On the Road," "Conditioning the Older Horse," "Cooling Out" and on and on. You can find it here: http://www.horsemanship101.com/Catalog/Jody-Wants-To-Know.html. It's 203 pp long. Bear in mind that ground manners are ground manners, stallion or not. For more in depth info, you may want to consider his Ground Manual. (Found here: http://www.horsemanship101.com/Catalog/Ground-Control-Manual.html). Basically it's more of the same training - it just takes longer and you need to make sure you're always very particular about your results. Check out this list of topics - each will lead you to available products and free articles when available: http://www.horsemanship101.com/Horse-Training-Tools/index1001.html. I teach this stuff - and I refer to the books often. I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite. Keith
