"Horses with damaged mouths"

Dear Keith...

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

There are a lot of people adopting PMU mares. As far as I know, the one we have has never been ridden... but pastured the last year. She is starting to trust us & I feel will be a good horse. I have 2 issues that might make for an article or two 1. RE-training specifically aimed at PMU horses (who have been tied for months on end) &/or other resuce horses that have been abused. I have searched & googled for any specifices or share-story blogs & found very little about the re-training 2. The other might be /hackamore/bits/bitless bridals etc for horses with damaged mouths. In particular, our PMU mare has a partially split tongue & a chunk of one side totally gone. Our Appy (another rescue horse) has 3 front teeth broken off at an angle. BTW... I think these are going to be some decent horses! Thanks Candy R
