"If I could ride a lot, for several days, I could get past most of my tenseness when I ride"

Dear Keith...
Sunday, January 21, 2007
Hi Keith,
I don't know how well you remember me (you have to see a lot of clients at clinics!), but I rode at last year's clinic. I have the Morab and maybe more pertinent...I'm the one with "fear/confidence" issues. LOL I hate that because I can remember riding for years without ANY nervousness...but it's there and I need to deal with it. I felt better riding in your clinic last year than I have in a long time...thus, my interest in another clinic.
If you're not going to be in this area for a clinic, I have something else in mind. I truly feel that, if I could ride a lot, for several days, I could get past most of my tenseness when I ride. The problem here is that I only have a small round pen, but more importantly, when I ride by myself, I spend more time being nervous than actually accomplishing anything, so it makes things worse. :(
Sooo...if your travels bring you into the SE area, could you spend a week working with me? I'd like to set something up very much like a clinic (with definite goals and riding times). It could be very local to me (if I could set something up with one of the places that have a covered riding arena) or I'm willing to travel a couple of hours, board, and stay at a hotel.
Hope this makes sense. Can you give me an idea of the cost that this would involve? Doesn't have to be "firm"...just something to let me know if I could manage this. It also doesn't have to be "private" if someone else was wanting to take advantage of your being here...but I'd like it to be longer than just a weekend, with or without a clinic (I don't want to try to organize a clinic).
Thanks,
Cindy |
