"Free or reasonably priced clinics"

Dear Keith...

Wednesday, January 3, 2007

hi keith we have a small number of 4H horse groups here in Berkshire County, MA ( 1 1/4 hours west of the Big 'E', near Millbrook NY area), about 20 kids +/- and equal number of parents. in the original mailings it was noted that any one of you guys do free or reasonably priced clinics if you are somewhere in the vicinity, assuming that safe/good stabling is made available as well as a place to stay. if this is the case, between all of us we have both- as well as a great bunch of 4H riders/horse lovers who deserve to have the experience of a "real" clinic. any clinic would do, but i can tell you off the top of my head i would like to see them experience true ground work for both training and horse/rider exercise idea purposes, something that is not addressed here very much. we have at least two kids with young horses (one horse just turned three, the other is seven but has be raised from birth by her rider and her mom and her brother and her... that wouldn't be us would it?) as well as kids with horses with issues which often come up at shows (most of these horses are backyard critters, many doing as much trail riding as ring riding, all worked with 9 months out of the year). all are working with natural horsemanship based trainers. we have access to one indoor ring (necessary depending on the time of year and though not even close to fancy, definitely safe, very good footing etc.) and are willing and able to be very open as to scheduling possibilities. thanks!!!! nanci w
