"My horse stepped on her reins and one of the little screws came out of her bridle. Where I can get a replacement?"

Dear Keith...

Wednesday, August 8, 2007

Hi! Came down a trail yesterday that was way steep and pretty rocky (3 miles of it), so we all walked our horses and let them graze on occasion to give everyone a break. My horse stepped on her reins and one of the little screws came out of her bridle. Yes, I put the halter and lead rope on after that, and so did everyone else. Do you know where I can get a replacement? It is the small end of the danged thing. Deb J

They're called Chicago screws - and you'll need to put a dab of clear nail polish in there (between the two joining parts) when you make your replacement. You can easily undo it later - but it'll keep you from losing the *&^& thing in the meantime. You can find them at most hardware stores (make sure you bring an example when you get there - you'd be amazed how much the different sizes look similar.) Most tack stores will carry them as well.
