I'm Having Trouble Receiving My Emails:

Our emails might have been filtered to your "Bulk" or "Junk" folder. The "fix" depends on the system you're using. Here are a few suggestions:

Suggestion 1)
Right-click on the message (as it sits listed there with all your other messages), then select "Junk E-mail" and finally "Add sender to safe sender's list"

Suggestion 2)
Try adding "horsemanship101.com" and/or "keithhosman.com" to your Address Book or Contact list. Sometimes you can accomplish this by simply forwarding the message to yourself.

Suggestion 3)
If that still doesn't work, here's one more suggestion.

If subsequent messages continue to be filtered, e-mail me at and I'll see if I can help you.

AOL members please note: If you subscribe to AOL, there's an excellent chance that you're not receiving emails from friends, companies you do business with – and newsletters you've subscribed to such as ours. Please complete these simple steps to make sure you receive our emails.

AOL 7, 8

Place an email ID in your AOL "Address Book." Here's how:

Go to Keyword Mail Controls
Select the screen name corresponding to the email (e.g. "XYZ Tip E-Mag")
Now choose "Customize Mail Controls" For This Screen Name
For AOL 7.0, include in the section, "exclusion and inclusion parameters," the two domains from which our email is sent: "horsemanship101.com" and "keithhosman.com"
For AOL 8.0, choose "Allow mail from AOL Members and addresses listed"
Type: "horsemanship101.com"
Click "Add" (and also please add our second domain "keithhosman.com")
Choose "Ok" displayed at the bottom

AOL 9.0

Add our email address to the buddy list (address book):

Using an email:
Open an email from us
Click on the horsemanship101 (or keithhosman.com) address. This will open a new window called "Info."
Click on "Add to address book." This will open another new window.
Click "Save"

Manually:
From the top navigation bar, choose "Settings." This will open a new window called "AOL Settings: Customize your AOL experience."
Click "Spam Controls." This will open another new window called "Mail and Spam Controls."
Click "Customer Sender List"
Check "Allow only the senders and domains listed below"
Type "horsemanship101.com" and click "Add" (also add our second domain "keithhosman.com")
Click "Save"
Click "Save"

I Use BellSouth

Bell South will occasionally block our emails before they even get to you. Here's a note from a subscriber who figured out how to deal with this "blockage":

Bellsouth users can go to their AT&T home page and at the bottom there is a tab for Security.  Click the Security tab - it defines the AT&T Anti-Spam features, etc and will direct you to the http://webmail.bellsouth.net At that site log-on using your user id and password then at the bottom left of the page there is a “Options” block.   In that Options block click on “Manage Spam” and the 3 options below are displayed.  Apparently the “ON” option is the default option - Change it to “OFF.”  After changing click “Save Settings” and log-off.   I then re-signed for the 101 course and within a minute or so received the e-mail providing the confirmation link then received the Day 1 e-mail immediately following my confirmation.

SPAM Options

On

I do not want to view spam messages that are detected before they are deleted (The spam messages will otherwise be deleted.)

Review

I want to view the spam messages that are detected. (A folder will be created when the first spam message is detected. Spam will be stored in the Spam folder for 7 days.)

Off

I do not want to use BellSouth to detect spam. (The anti-spam service will be turned off.)

This fix seems to have solved my problem.  However, folks that don't have a good Security protection system and want to use Bellsouth's security filter might need to click “Review” in lieu of turning this feature totally off.   If the Review feature is used the e-mail would probably be filtered and saved in the Bellsouth Spam folder at the “webmail” site – not sure on this though.  Since I have McAfee on my computer and it manages Spam within my Outlook Junk Mail folder I didn't want the extra steps of going to their site to review Spam mail.
