Pat Parelli believes that the "natural" system that he has developed - which is completely "non-denominational," embracing both English and Western riders, from dressage to reining, from jumping to cutting - provides the foundation of an expertise in all horsemanship endeavors. He strives to offer tried and true techniques that everyone, despite their level of experience or riding style, can master for immediate results. He continues to offer training and instruction to develop Instructors around the world to increase the accessibility of his teachings through qualified and reliable sources. It is Pat Parelli's vision that that more and more people make the change from normal to natural, no matter what discipline they are involved in - and that the term "natural" will no longer have to precede the word "horsemanship."
Following a lifetime of studying the horse, Pat Parelli has come to believe that horsemanship does not need to be mechanical. Rather, he believes that when horse and people develop a mutual understanding they can achieve excellence, unity, harmony and truth that is otherwise unattainable. In his clinic and expo appearances Parelli promotes "natural horsemanship." That is, that excellence in horsemanship is realized through better communication and the use of psychology, rather than force, intimidation and mechanics.
